My Approach
I am committed to enhancing clients’ self-awareness and empowering them to build resilience and wholeness. My approach is warmly interactive, collaborative, supportive, and insight-driven.
I strive to create a safe/comfortable yet transformative relational space, where I can be attuned to clients’ strengths as well as struggles. For this, I practice evidence-based therapy and work from an integrative framework that incorporates psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral methods, existential, and interpersonal techniques. I also believe that therapeutic relationship is crucial to successful treatment. Thus, I emphasize process work/here-and-now moments and attention to the interplay and influence of cultural, contextual, and social factors on clients’ presenting concerns.
I strive to have a deepened understanding of identity, “Isms”, and other internalized societal messages to ‘different others.’ When appropriate, I address these issues with my clients and supervisees to affirm their unique, experienced realities.
